During the Summer of 2017, Megan Marie was extended the opportunity to intern with The Buckle, Inc. in Saint Peters, Missouri. She excelled in her Sales and Management role as exemplified by the success of Gilded Intent, the product category that she managed. Intrigued by the store's private labels, Megan Marie investigated the Gilded Intent brand and discovered that its company wide performance in her store was lowest in its product category of Women's Tops. Determined to improve its rankings, she challenged all Teammates to learn about and share the brand with each other and Guests, even when she was not present in the store.
After she created a 30-Day Business Plan detailing sales goals and brand education with Teammates, she shared these results and continued to develop the success of the brand by sponsoring it daily. Out of over 450 stores across the country, Gilded Intent had risen from a ranking of 411th in the company from when Megan Marie had first declared her sponsorship to 155th at the end of the 30-Day Business Plan. The mission of every Teammate is to create the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for each Guest. Striving to do so allowed Megan Marie to develop a close network of Preferred Guests. She enjoyed the exciting challenges of a personal stylist and continued to invite them to shop with her again and again. |

Visual Merchandising |
The round nesting table, mannequin, and signage pictured to the right were merchandised according to standards illustrated in The Buckle, Inc.'s Visual Playbook. This was the biggest move Megan Marie performed.
All denim within the cubby were Pocket Folded according to size and arranged according to bottom opening and wash. The Red by BKE tops on the round feature table and shelves were merchandised using the lifecycle of product. Those with the highest inventory were allocated the most sales space while the best selling tops were given less by utilizing tighter folds. The denim placed on the round feature table were Trouser Folded and according to size and arranged according to bottom opening and wash. Only 13 denims per stack are allowed on top of a round feature table with the top most fold indicated by a feature tag signifying the fit and bottom opening. Pictured here is a "Regular Boot" feature tag. The pieces on the table mannequin can be found on the round feature table. A dark wash Size 27R Sabrina Bootcut was paired with layered Red by BKE size Small tops. This look was then completed by accessories including a belt, sunglasses, and choker necklaces. |

Denim to be altered was received with an alteration tag attached, detailing changes to be made and Guest information. As per company standards, an uncut version of the Reattached Hem was used to hem denim to its appropriate length. Equipment used to perform alterations included a Singer 1191 D300A industrial sewing machine, Juki MO-644D conventional overlock serger, rubber mallet, and a Rowenta DW5080 Focus conventional iron. With right sides together, the hem was folded where the Teammate had marked it at the fitting room with the Guest on the sales floor. The seam allowance was then accounted for, as it was half of the length to be removed. For example, to remove 1" of length from denim, the seam allowance would be 1/2". Finishes such as wash and details including destruction were taken into consideration with alignment. Once side seams were aligned, the hem was pinned into place. Using a 3.0 straight stitch with thread to match, the denim was stitched as close to the manufacturer's original stitching as possible, but no closer than 1/16". The hem was then turned and pressed. To prevent the hem from flipping up, the hem was then topstitched and pressed. Once alterations were completed, the denim was pant hung and placed on a tabular alphabetized rack in the stockroom for pickup. If written in the special instructions on the alterations tag, the Guest was called and informed of their altered denim. |
